Weathered sandstone/granite sites. Very steep slope. All work in vineyard by hand. Area very warm - famous for Burgundy varieties. Grauburgunder = Pinot Gris, medium-bodied, well structured. Pinot Gris owes its light, mineral spiciness to the primary rock weathering soils, which give the wine, known as powerful and full-bodied, a slenderness and race that makes it a versatile food companion. Dense pale yellow shimmers from the glass. Fully ripe notes of pear, apple and quince reveal this wine in the clearest way, with an elegant finish. The all-round talent with every dish.
