Who We Are

International Diplomatic Supplies (IDS) is the world’s leading supplier of duty-free goods to the diplomatic community.

With operations spanning over 30 markets and clients from more than 13 nationalities, we combine global reach, expert logistics, and a deep sense of purpose, with 28 years of experience. 

IDS started in the spare bedroom of our founder Patrick Doyle in the UK in 1997. From exporting duty-free goods to British embassies around the world, the company grew rapidly to supply international embassies in London within the year.

By 2005, IDS had become London's top diplomatic supplier and investment in the business came from John Coe, the owner of the UK's leading wholesaler of premium  on-trade Champagnes, wines and spirits. This opened up growth in the UK and opportunities with more Embassies overseas as well as new markets across Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Sub-Continent.

By 2010, those new markets needed a supply hub closer to home, and IDS partnered with Intagulf FZCO, a successful Jebel Ali-based liquor distribution company, founded by Mark Rogers in 2002, and IDS Dubai was born.

With a board of three powerhouse entrepreneurs, IDS continued its growth trajectory, establishing a purpose-built warehouse and offices in Jebel Ali in 2016. Offering greater capacity and including the region’s first humidity and temperature-controlled wine cellar, the new state-of-the-art facility increased operational efficiency and global reach.

IDS’ global footprint expanded further in 2020, strengthening its ability to serve embassies and diplomatic missions worldwide.

Today, IDS supplies embassies, consulates and high commissions from its international hubs in London and Dubai, delivering innovation, service excellence and unmatched passion throughout the business.
