Tres Picos Garnacha - Intense bouquet of mature red fruits with floral notes, typical of the best Garnachas. The palate is rich and well-structured with masses of bramble and ripe strawberry fruit and warm vanilla and liquorice spice. Tannins are subtle but evident and the finish is big, generous and long.

SpringField Estate Wholeberry Cabernet Sauvignon - Velvety texture with notes of red fruits and cedar complemented by complex vanilla and tobacco on the nose.

Teliani Valley Glekhuri Kisiskhevi Saperavi Qvevri - Kisi is a native Georgian grape with sweet spice notes and great acidity, perfect for maintaining freshness. Fermentation in Qvevries adds great complexity and texture. Don't chill it, you'll just bring the tannins forward at the expense of the lovely flavours - serve cool, not cold!

Trinity Hill, Gimblett Gravels Tempranillo, Hawkes Bay - The wine shows attractive brambly, blackberry-like ripe fruits along with spicy and exotic complexity. The palate is rich and textural with salivating soft tannins. Licorice, chocolate and sarsaparilla flavours linger on the finish. This wine will age extremely well for at least five years but equally can be drunk in its youth.

Paul Jaboulet Aine, Domaine de Thalabert Crozes-Hermitage Rouge (Organic & Biodynamic) - From the flat Crozes Hermitage area in Northern Rhône, Domaine de Thalabert is a consistently brilliant example of structured Northern Rhône Syrah, with lovely soft red fruits, hints of blueberries and plums backed up with inky and spicy notes. The easy tannins are balanced and ripe, there’s excellent freshness and length. A really lovely dry red wine that is highly recommended and is very good value at the price.

Patrizi Barolo DOCG - A generous and savoury nose wth hints of wood smoke and leather fleshed out by berry fruit and plum characters. Good concentration of spicy dried fruit and wild cherry on the palate, leading to the characteristic firm and structured finish with balancing tangy acidity. Best drunk with hearty, gamey dishes such as beef or venison but also good with vegetables roasted in garlic, olive oil and strong herbs.
