Product Details

Fog Mountain pays homage to the Californian mountain ranges and the cooling fog, which have a huge influence on Californian viticulture. The mountains offer unique climatic conditions and varied soils on which to plant vines, while the fog, with its cooling effect, creates the ideal microclimate, prolonging the growing season and allowing the grapes to fully ripen. All the fruit for these wines is sourced exclusively from sustainably farmed vineyards throughout California, predominantly from the North Coast. The wines are aged for six months, partially in oak, to round off the finish and add a hint of spice. The Merlot has aromas of baked plums and delicate floral notes on the nose, a palate of dark cherries with well-structured tannins and a long finish. The Cabernet Sauvignon, which includes a small amount of Petit Verdot and Merlot, presents luscious flavours of dried plums, medjool dates, redcurrants and bright berries with soft tannins and a polished, lingering finish. After moderate temperatures through the long growing season, California’s 2018 harvest was exceptional. Harvest was later than in 2017 due to consistent growing conditions and cooler temperatures, which allowed the grapes to mature slowly and be harvested at the optimum point of ripeness. A delicious Californian Cabernet Sauvignon bursting with aromas of blackcurrant and cherry, - After moderate temperatures through the long growing season, California’s 2018 harvest was exceptional. Harvest was later than in 2017 due to consistent growing conditions and cooler temperatures, which allowed the grapes to mature slowly and be harvested at the optimum point of ripeness.
