Becherovka was originally createdin 1805 by an English doctor in the Czech town of Karlovy Vary, as the personal physician to Count Pletenberg-Mietingen. It was originally created as a stomach medicine. It has a lovely oiliness on the palate, with a long, herbal finish. On the nose and the palate, there is a clear comparison with cough syrup. It's lovely and warming - served either straight up, or on ice.
