Product Details
The original recipe for the Southern Comfort dates back to 1874. Martin Wilkes Heron, a bartender from New Orleans, tried to soften the hardness of American whiskey by adding fruit and peach to the distillate. His invention was a success and became very popular in a short time. Heron loved to say: "None genuine but mine" - "Not genuine, but mine". The name, Southern Comfort, was chosen because of the place where it was created (Louisiana, in the south of the United States) and because the drink had the task of bringing relief (comfort, in English) to those who had drunk it. Southern Comfort, thanks to its mix of sweet and spicy notes, lends itself well to the creation of cocktails or to be drunk only on the rocks.
