Petaluma is committed to producing the very best wines from South Australia’s most distinguished viticultural areas. Coonawarra in the South East of South Australia is the premier region for Cabernet Sauvignon. Cooled by the coldwaters of the nearby Southern Ocean, the famed terra rossa soils of the area help provide wonderful growing conditions. The White Label Range is crafted in the same Petaluma philosophy as the highly regarded Yellow Label. Thegrapes are grown in the key regions of Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra. These wines are perfect to enjoy upon their release and complement occasions with friends, family and food.

The 2017 Petaluma White Label Sauvignon Blanc displays fresh tropical fruits and exotic herbaceous characters withcrunchy lime and lemon blossom. Hints of passionfruit combine with mown grass that lead on to stone fruit on thepalate. Crisp clean acid lingers with citrus persistence, signalling a concentrated full flavoured Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc.

The region had a really wet, cold winter in 2016 and then a record-setting spring with widespread flooding and incredible storm damage. Then on Friday 30th September South Australia was plunged into darkness when a mini-cyclone took out the power supply. Some areas remained without power for a week. The rest of spring and earlysummer remained wet and cool, with an occasional burst of heat. The weather didn’t settle down until March with afew heatwaves in January and February that were all followed by rain. Disease pressure in the vineyards was high andpersistent, finally reverting to beautiful cool autumn sunshine in March, by which time all the sauvignon blanc fruit had been picked.
