Our buying team have carefully selected 6 wines particularly suited to be enjoyed with a barbecue and placed 2 OF EACH in this case. Whatever food you are enjoying on the barbecue we have a great wine pairing that will maximise the flavours.
Dark Horse Sauvignon Blanc x2: A vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with notes of fresh tropical fruit and a refreshingly crisp finish, it draws a likeness to New Zealand-style wines.
Casa Silva, Cool Coast Sauvignon Blanc x2: Very intense and powerful fragrance, light grassiness due to the cool climate, exotic and open, melon, hints of boxwood and artichoke, pineapple, powerful, tasty, very 'Sauvignon' in the taste, with acidity and tension.
Pablo y Walter Malbec x2: A really pure expression of Malbec, deep red almost purple in colour and wonderfully aromatic with lifted violet, red currant and cassis notes. Muy, muy fantasticó – richly bloody, vibrant, Latin and velveteen. To enjoy with a juicy steak, churrasco de chorizo marinated with garlic, parsley and olive oil, grilled vegetables with chimichurri sauce.
Terre Antiche, Gavi di Gavi, Piemonte x2: This wine has an attractive lemon yellow colour. It is scented and delicate, with hints of lime zest on the nose and fruit with a lovely zip and verve on the palate alongside a mineral finish.
Calusari Pinot Noir x2: Soft, smooth and spicy flavours throughout with generous soft red fruit flavours & a lovely elegant finish.
Allegrini Valpolicella DOC x2: This wine is ruby red in colour, with youthful highlights. Fragrant fruit with prominent notes of dark cherries are echoed by fresher hints of pepper and aromatic herbs, typical of Corvina and its genetic cousin Corvinone, the historic varieties of this appellation. This Valpolicella is impressively lively and playful on the palate, whilst exhibiting delicacy and finesse at the same time.
