VDP.ERSTE LAGE® distinguishes the highest quality German vineyards. This is where the best wines with complex flavours, expressive site character and special ripening potential mature. The vineyards are determined with great care by the VDP regional associations and precisely delineated. The appropriate, regionally approved grape varieties are defined for each vineyard. For Franconia, these are Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The harvest is limited to a maximum yield of 50 hl per hectare. The grapes are selectively harvested by hand. The grapes must be physiologically fully ripe. The wines are produced exclusively using traditional production methods.
