About the Producer
For three generations now, and with more than 60 years of experience in viticulture, the Stewart family wants to be a leader in the field of viticulture. in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Located in the Kelowna area, Quails’ Gate has earned an unwavering reputation for production of pinot noir. It also produces dry white wines of very high quality based on grape varieties from cool regions. Chardonnay, Riesling, chenin blanc and even gewürztraminer. The vials sold under the "Limited Release" label offer a particularly advantageous price-quality ratio, while the "Family Reserve" series is the flagship of the estate. It is absolutely necessary to stop at the estate during a trip to the region in order to contemplate the magnificent landscapes and also experience one of the best restaurants in Canada, the Old Vines. The Stewart family did not stop her! In the 2000s, they bought two estates on the California side, more specifically in the Sonoma region, Valley of The Moon and Lake Sonoma.
Vinification
Manual harvest. Fermentation in French oak barrels of which 60% nine. Stirring and complete malolactic fermentation to sublimate the mid-palate and give the wine a rich, creamy character.
