Lebanese Red Cross

As a result of the 4th of August blast which killed more than 190 people, wounded at least 6000 and destroyed a significant part of Beirut, key infrastructure in the port and surrounding areas of up to 3km were affected. More than 80 000 families have suffered significant losses and damage to their homes.

Working with our friends at the Embassy of Lebanon in London, IDS will donate all profits from the sale of Lebanese wines in 2021 to support those affected by the explosion in Beirut.

This money will go to the Lebanese Red Cross who have so far provided help to 248,049 people, including assistance to 9800 families. This includes food parcels, hygiene kits, psychosocial support kits and shelters. Providing primary healthcare and medicine through 3 mobile medical units and 4 fixed primary health centers in and around the blast area, support with psychosocial services and referrals. Providing ambulance services as necessary in the blast area but also across Lebanon, as well as to help respond to the ongoing COVID19 crisis.
