Italy lays claim to more indigenous grape varieties than anywhere else in the world that we can think of - and we've tried to bring you a mixture of the more familiar and perhaps a few newer ones too!

From a white wine perspective, Italy has become synomous with Pinot Grigio. Often making a very dry, crisp and refreshing style of everyday drinking wine, like Lamberti, through to a slightly more complex version blended with Sauvignon Blanc from Due Uve.

Perhaps more prestigious, in the small region of Gavi, in Piemonte. Making fantastic, mineral, dry whites from Cortese - and the co-operative of Araldica is one of the largest producers in the region Pieropan make some of the best Soave in the region - and their 'Calvarino' is a super example of a textural, delicious, Soave.
