Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand and sorted again upon arrival. No cold maceration, but direct pressing of the grapes upon arrival. Alcoholic fermentation for more than three weeks at no more than 13 degrees, perfect for the fruit in the wine.

Wine description

Delicious broad scent with melon and ripe pear, flowers, lychee, gooseberries. Beautiful ripe, almost plump and broad taste, minerally, mouth-filling, stimulating, with very good acidity, something really special.

Background information

This wine is made from the oldest Sauvignon Gris vines in Chile, and probably in the whole world, planted in 1912. They are at the old bodega, of course, in Angostura. They were planted by the first generation of Silva. These old vines produce a wine with a special depth and concentration, but also always with beautiful acidity and an invigorating freshness.

Wine / Food

Delicious with oysters, caviar and a nice piece of sea bass fried on the skin. Great with tuna, mussels or a nice salad with pine nuts and pieces of soft goat cheese.
